Project Description

The Angelina-Neches River Authority (ANRA) has developed a database of septic systems in the Control Zone Rayburn (CZR), the 2000-ft buffer zone around Sam Rayburn Reservoir. ANRA is working with county representatives toward standardizing local data on septic systems. ANRA is using the database, together with field reconnaissance and inspections, to track and map all permitted systems in the area. ANRA is also offering assistance to homeowners to repair or replace septic systems in targeted portions of the CZR. A second NPS grant project is funding an extension of these tracking and assistance efforts.
