My Site Might be Contaminated. What Do I Do?

Information on determining whether a site is under the jurisdiction of TCEQ remediation programs.

Review these documents and see the Remediation Program Descriptions web page to help determine which program may have jurisdiction over your site.

Determining Which Releases Are Subject to TRRP
Use these procedures to determine whether a release is subject to the Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP) rule. Note that the report transmitting the excavation results (determination process results) must be submitted to the TCEQ within 60-days from the date the release is discovered. At 60 days, elect to use TRRP without using the screening process, document that the release has passed the screen and therefore is not subject to TRRP, or indicate that the screen failed and the release is subject to TRRP.

Investigating and Reporting Releases from Petroleum Storage Tanks (PSTs)
Use this guidance to determine if a release from an underground or aboveground storage tank is considered a Leaking Petroleum Storage Tank (LPST) site.
