Public Water Systems Affected by the Disinfection Byproduct Stage 2 and Long Term 2 Rules

Updated information PWSs affected by DBP2 Rule as of Jan. 28, 2008. This list is sorted by PWS ID number. An updated LT2 list is not available at this time, although some changes have been made since the original list became available.

The PDF file below lists all public water systems that our records indicate will be affected by the Stage 2 Disinfectants and Disinfection Byproducts Rule and Long-Term 2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule. In this list:

  • Look for the name of your PWS in column 1.
  • Make sure the information under “Name of Combined Distribution System” is correct:
    • “Solo,” if your system is not interconnected with other systems.
    • The correct combined distribution system, if your system is interconnected.
  • Under “DBP2 Group,” make sure we have your PWS in the right group for implementation of the DBP2 Rule. If your PWS is not interconnected, this assignment is based on the population served by your PWS. If your PWS is interconnected, this assignment is based on the largest population served by any individual PWS within the combined distribution system:
    • Group 1—100,000 or more
    • Group 2— 50,000–99,999
    • Group 3— 10,000–49,999
    • Group 4—  9,999 or fewer
  • Under “LT2 Group,” make sure we have your PWS in the right group for implementation of the LT2 Rule. (This affects only systems that treat surface water or groundwater under the influence of surface water.) If your PWS is in LT2 Group 1, 2, or 3, go to the EPA Web site for compliance help and guidanceExit TCEQ.
  • Other:
    • If your system serves fewer than 500 people, its name should appear in purple.
    • If your system is a wholesaler, its name should appear in blue.

If we have assigned your PWS to the wrong group, e-mail pdws@tceq.state.tx.us with “DBP2/LT2 Group Assignment” in the subject line or call our main Water Supply Division line, 512/239-4691, and ask to speak to a member of our Drinking Water Quality Team.
