Templates for Preparing Your Consumer Confidence Report

Note: Due to a transition to a new data tracking system, some bacteriological monitoring and violations may not be accurate in the template. Please review and modify as needed according to the following information:

  • If your system collects fewer than 40 samples per month, you must report the highest monthly number of positive samples as listed in the template.
  • If you are a system that is required to collect at least 40 samples per month, then take the highest month's positives and divide by the total number of routine and repeat samples collected in that month. Multiply the result by 100 to get your percentage to be reported.
All water systems are responsible for assuring accuracy of the data presented in their annual Consumer Confidence Report.

Every community public water system (PWS) must prepare this annual report of drinking water quality. As a convenience, we provide these templates based on data reported to us in the previous year. To use these templates to help you comply with this requirement:

  1. In this drop-down list, find the file for the county in which your PWS is located. (If there are many systems in your county, look for the specific file you need according to the sequential order of your PWS’s identification number.)
  2. In that file, look for the template for your PWS.
  3. Check the data in your PWS’s template to make sure it is right.
  4. If your PWS treats surface water or groundwater under the influence of surface water, add data collected by the plant staff.
  5. Distribute the completed CCR to your customers:
    • If your PWS serves no more than 500 customers and has not violated any TCEQ rules, regulations, or standards, then you may simply notify your customers that the CCR is available from you on request. You may include this notice in each customer’s water bill.
    • All other community water systems must deliver the completed CCR directly to their customers—for example, by including a copy of the CCR itself in a monthly bill. If you have any questions about delivery options, contact us.
  6. Complete the certificate of delivery and no later than July 1, 2008, submit it to us with a copy of the CCR distributed to your customers.

Contact us if you have any questions.
