As the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) completes its
review of portions of the 2000 Texas Surface Water Quality
Standards, it sends letters documenting the portions it approves,
portions it disapproves, and portions on which no action is taken.
These final action decisions are forwarded to the TCEQ. Those
portions that are approved become effective on the EPA approval
dates, when the TCEQ also begins using them in federal permitting
programs.
