Local Emergency Planning Committees and Fire Departments

A Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) is a legally mandated organization that is established in an Emergency Planning District designated by the State Emergency Response Commission (SERC). Most Texas counties have a single LEPC, but some counties may have multiple LEPCs that serve individual cities or communities.

Guidance for LEPCs and Fire Departments

If you represent a LEPC or fire department in Texas, find resources for LEPCs including potential grants. Verify and update your LEPC contact information as needed.

Reporting to LEPCs and Fire Departments

If you represent a facility that is required to submit a Tier II report through STEERS you must also send a copy to your LEPC and fire department.
