About TEEA

The state's highest environmental honor since 1993.

The Texas Environmental Excellence Awards is an annual awards program that honors achievements in environmental preservation and protection. There are nine diverse award categories that provide citizens, communities, businesses, and organizations an opportunity to obtain the state’s highest environmental honor and be recognized for their environmental projects. Those categories are:

  • Agriculture
  • Civic/Community
  • Education
  • Individual
  • Innovative Operations/Management
  • Pollution Prevention
  • Technical/Technology
  • Water Conservation
  • Youth

Since 1993, we have honored over 250 successful environmental projects and efforts. By honoring these winners, the TCEQ hopes to encourage others to initiate like-minded projects and reinforce a spirit of environmental stewardship.

If you are interested in applying, visit our How to Apply page for details on the application process.

Recognition of Award Winners

The TCEQ will host a banquet on the evening of May 16, 2018, at the Austin Convention Center to honor the 2018 award winners. The TCEQ funds the banquet using registration fees from both the banquet and the TCEQ’s Environmental Trade Fair and Conference (ETFC).

All are invited to attend the banquet! Registration is managed through the ETFC; once registration opens for the conference on the ETFC web page, you can use their system to register for the banquet. If you would like to attend, we recommended business attire. For more information about the banquet, please visit the ETFC web page.
