Difficulty in signing up (as described in Sign Up Now!) is sometimes due to a
browser (i.e., Netscape or Explorer) configuration problem. TCEQ
regional employees may also encounter this situation and can apply
the sollution below by utilizing the TCEQ e-mail package to sign
up.
There is a way to sign up manually and the following information
is provided on what you need to know and
what you need to do.
What You Need to Know
Two basic e-mail addresses are used by the listserv to sign you
up:
- join-ozone-xxx@listserv.tceq.state.tx.us
(for Ozone Forecasts in all metropolitan areas) and
- join-alert-xxx@listserv.tceq.state.tx.us
(for Ozone Warnings, which are available only in the Dallas-Fort
Worth, Houston-Galveston-Brazoria, and San Antonio metropolitan
areas and for the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe).
Notice the "xxx" in the center of each e-mail address.
Depending on the area you are interested in, refer to the following
list to determine which acronym to replace the "xxx" with.

Open your e-mail package and follow these steps:
- If you want to sign up for an
Ozone Forecast, copy this e-mail address — join-ozone-xxx@listserv.tceq.state.tx.us

into your e-mail's "To" space. Don't forget the acronym to replace
"xxx" AND leave the subject line and message area blank.
- If you want to sign up for an
Ozone Warning (which are available ONLY in the Dallas-Fort
Worth, Houston-Galveston-Brazoria, and San Antonio metropolitan
areas and for the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe), copy this e-mail
address — join-alert-xxx@listserv.tceq.state.tx.us
