Where to Obtain Edwards Aquifer Zone Maps
The officially marked Edwards Aquifer zone maps are USGS Exit the TCEQ topographic maps for individual quadrangles that contain portions of the recharge, contributing or transition zone. The last mapping change went into effect on September 1, 2005. Modifications were made to the existing boundaries in Travis, Hays, Comal, and Bexar Counties.

The marking of these zones on the official maps is based on the best current understanding of local geologic formations and water movement. These maps are adopted as part of the rules, and we may revise them through our standard rulemaking process when new information is available.
