The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) today
approved penalties totaling $516,606 against 69 regulated entities
for violations of state environmental regulations.
Agreed orders were issued for the following enforcement
categories: 13 air quality, one dry cleaner, two Edwards Aquifer,
three field citations, one industrial waste discharge, one licensed
irrigator, five multi-media, two municipal solid waste, 18
municipal waste discharge, seven petroleum storage tank, five
public water system, and five water quality. In addition, there
were default orders issued for the following categories: five dry
cleaner, and one petroleum storage tank. Penalties were also
assessed against a regulated entity following hearings at the State
Office of Administrative Hearings for one petroleum storage tank
violation.
The TCEQ's next agenda meeting is scheduled for September 19.
