The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality today approved
penalties totaling $521,583 against 67 regulated entities for
violations of state environmental regulations.
Agreed orders were issued for the following enforcement
categories: one agricultural, 21 air quality, three dry cleaner,
one Edwards Aquifer, three field citations, two industrial waste
discharge, one licensed irrigators, four multi-media, two municipal
solid waste, 10 municipal waste discharge, four petroleum storage
tank, and seven public water system, three water quality. In
addition, there were default orders as follows: one air, one
licensed irrigators, two petroleum storage tank, one public water
system.
Chairman Buddy Garcia announced that Executive Director Glenn
Shankle informed the commission of his intention to retire in the
near future. The commission instructed the general counsel to
publish the job posting to fill the position.
The TCEQ's next agenda meeting is scheduled for April 16. Agenda
