This stakeholder group provides the TCEQ input
on its hazardous household
waste (HHW) rules, which are codified in
Title 30, Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 335, Subchapter N,
and promulgated in the
Texas Health and Safety Code, Section 361.029.
About This Group
To ensure that the TCEQ's guidance for complying with the
requirements is useful to those implementing HHW programs, the TCEQ
gathers input from this stakeholder group, which is open to anyone
who wishes to participate.
The TCEQ's rules require that HHW programs send
notifications 45 days before collection events and prepare
operation plans before events. There are requirements for:
- training
- labeling of containers
- recordkeeping
- specific operating parameters
- safety
- manifesting
- disposal
