This advisory group–which is now dissolved–assisted
TCEQ
staff in reviewing the existing Predetermined Equipment List (PEL), which is part of
the Tax Relief for Pollution Control Property program.

About the Group
This advisory group consisted of representatives from various
property tax-related associations, consumer groups, industry,
property tax consultants, and TCEQ
technical staff. Rulemaking was done at the same time by a TCEQ
rulemaking team.
House Bill 3732, 80th Legislature, required the TCEQ to
adopt a non-exclusive list of pollution control property, to list
17 specific items which must be on the list and an 18th item that
covered a broad range of pollution control property, and requires
the TCEQ to
review the adopted list at least once every three years.
